Every few years another pearl is coming out of the Polish Death Metal sector that has not to be afraid of the comparison with bands like Vader, Behemoth or Decapitated. This troop is called Trauma and with the precision of Swiss clockworks they are making professional played Death Metal public again and again. Personally I would designate Trauma as the qualitative number one from Poland. Trauma are not new in the business or unknown anymore and because of that I hope that they can accomplish the leap on the international metal market and leave their insiders' tip behind. Many of their albums like for example "Imperfect Like A God" definitely belong to the best one can find on the European Death Metal sector and so it would be a shame if such a troop would fail to establish themselves to bigger audiences. But as Trauma doesn't wear corpse paint or allow major labels to fuck them by the way it has to go on for this band without any chart positions. Anyhow Trauma have been remaining in my memory with their last great album "DetermiNation" (which has been demonized because of its production). Accordingly the yardstick has been appointed very high. However Trauma are not for nothing one of the best bands from Europe and so on "Neurotic Mass" another qualitative aggravation was to examine whereby this aggravation definitely does not only concern the technical level. Also the song material is very amazing. Let's start slowly and don't precipitate anything. When I played this album for the first time my enthusiasm was directly gone because first there is a classical opera intro called "Monument". This luckily pretty short intro interacts like a typical Dimmu Borgir or Cradle Of Filth wannabe classic ballad introduction. In all probability it was taken out of one of this fantasy pseudo lord of the rings movies. But after that it goes forward "straight in your face" as usual. A real blast beat inferno is following coupled with sawing guitar riffs and interesting as well as various growling and screaming vocals. Now if one is thinking of monotonous nonstop banging without any flavor and apprehension when it comes to the word blast beat then one lies completely wrong. Trauma are indeed able to create the correct court for every Death Metal fan. I had found a band coming out of the Death Metal branch being so varied and not coming across effeminately at the same time rarely before. Fucking cool brutal blast beats, nice mid-tempo parts, head banger riffs, breakdowns right up to damn cool melodies; everything is existing. In this regard they are in my opinion vastly superior compared to many other compatriots. That is another point speaking for the high quality level. Especially as the last Decapitated was more sounding like Meshuggah mixed with Death Metal this album is appealing like the rescue on a sinking ship. On the song "Immolated" the band risks to use keyboards, but I can calm down all brutality freaks here because the appearance is kept within limits and they are used very decent. Even if I'm not a friend of metal contaminated with keyboards I have to admit that Trauma let them flow in very clever into the music. With "Neurotic Mass" the band has maybe created their ne plus ultra. Even their great "Imperfect Like A God" album has to pull off the hat here. Alright dear Death Metal maniacs here you will get 45 minutes of first class Death Metal that will please all friends of bands like Behemoth, Vader or Decapitated. Additionally one gets a great sound production and very good song material which is hard to top talking about the alternation. There are no excuses anymore, this album is fucking duty!
