Among popular and successful bands like Embalming Theatre and Cliteater, the five Australian members of The Day Everything Became Nothing are signed on the famous label No Escape Records, who have put out an experienced and good new album, called "Invention: Destruction". The inconspicuous outfit, manifested in the gore free band name, short and unimaginative track names and the expressionless cover artwork are standing in heavy contrast to the music played here: extremely heavy guitars producing simple riffing, mid-tempo drumming and a pitched frog style sounding voice. Sounds like gore grind? It is indeed, and pretty catchy too. From time to time, there are some guest vocals from the likewise Australian band Fuck... I'm Dead, which don't fit the sound at all and fortunately only appear as sporadic, rarely. Because most of the time the ear canals are penetrated by heavy grooving gore grind, animating to bang the head. But as it is often the case, it becomes pretty monotonous after about half of the tracks, because these dudes don't even think about varying their music with things like speed changes.
