After three years of waiting the German band Resurrected returns with their fifth album "Endless Sea Of Loss", which was released by Morbid Records - containing more speed, brutality and intenseness than ever before. Reasons might be the change from Perverted Taste to Morbid Records; furthermore, something happened with the line-up. Ben Bays is replacing his big brother at the 4-string, while there is a new guy to be found behind the drums; Hazim Fouad, a former member of the band Skullbreaker. But at "Endless Sea Of Loss" you will find Adriano Ricci (amongst others Grind Inc.) as fourth on the session drums. The blood red cover artwork by Juanjo Castellano is kind of decent and has been designed with lots of details; inside the booklet one can find some band pics, a few acknowledgements and some advert stuff - just as usual. The album is starting with a very atmospherically intro, but after that, the guys from Duisburg are banging forward with the opener "Hidden By Disguise". Vocalist Carsten Schulze does a good job screaming his soul out, while he attends to every cliché of the Death Metal scene ("...And She Loves It Anal", "Until You Kill Yourself" and so on). The precisely played drums are pushing the whole thing forward, but unfortunately, the guitars are more deep than depressing. The sound is clean, but somehow, the punch is missing... However, the red line of the album is giving something individual to the tracks; hyper fast blast parts, nerved by nearly "doomy", slower parts, leading to a worthy outro for the 39-minute-CD, closing the whole thing as it started. To sum up, there is a really positive development of the sound, the songwriting and the brutality. Resurrected are now good enough to mess with Death Metal overlords like Dying Fetus or Suffocation. Whoever likes guttural vocals, deeply tuned guitars and blasting drums in a big variety of speed and style should buy this one or die!
