| The five man strong grinders from Eastern Friesland released a good portion of thuddy gore grind with this album. The influences are GUT and Mortician (as they say) which is clear when one is listening to the whole discography. Because just as Mortician, there is no real progress in the musical skills here, merely the production is a little bit more professional. Fans who already know Meatknife will also know what to expect on "Hacked": sludgy guitar riffs (which are still pretty catchy), midtempo drumming and grunting and gargling vocals. Not bad at all, but because the tracks do sound mostly the same, it's not really worth listening for a long time. Anyhow this album has some highlights though that are able to shine out of the mass. Catchy songs like "Cumslut" from the previous effort "Vaginal Blast" are here as well, e.g. "B.K.P." or "Down The Hatch". The cover artwork is ok, not really good but still better looking than on their earlier releases. All in all the entire album is more for fans of a thuddy and undemanding sound. But people who are into this stuff, should get the album as fast as possible. |
