| Yeah ... Columbian Brutal Death Metal. What will the listener expect here? Of course ultra brutal and guttural blasting stuff on the far side of good and evil. Same goes for the band with the uninspired name Masturbation, who put out their first real release "Putrified Vaginal Infibulation" (reminds me of Mutilated) which has a runtime of 27 minutes. Now let's dissect this roast detailed: we have the drums with a hollow snare sound which Last Days Of Humanity used on their last album already in an (almost) similar speed. The vocals are very guttural and growling like a trained fighting dog that has smelled some little children. To add things up, there are occasional backing vocals which sound almost exactly as the other ones. Both of the band members try hard to destroy everything organic between the ears of the listener. The guitar is played pleasantly fast, destructive riffs inclusive. Because of this the fact that there is no bass guitar present is not particularly disturbing. Influences are to be looked for definitely with Colombian colleagues such as Suppuration and Internal Suffering, fans of these bands should grab this release as soon as possible. Deficiency on can call the play time which lies at scarcely 18 minutes without intro and bonus tracks. The bonus tracks are not stunning at all, since the only difference to the studio tracks is the raw production. The quality of the sound is overall satisfying; "Brutalized Records" have put some good effort in giving these hear-worth newcomers the production they deserve. There is no real diversion and the tracks are mostly very similar to each other which isn't that bad at all. The cover is good because of the inexpressive colors and the barb-wire montage, and the logo of the band is pretty fucking nice too. Lyrically the band can't decide between dowdy gore titles like "Suicide At The Train Station" and pseudo medical titles like "Vaginal Infibulations". But don't let us fool ourselves: finally one does not really understand a word and as long as they don't sing about sunsets and flowers I don't give a fuck. The only thing left to say is to wish this young (founded in 2005) band a successful future. There is not really much to suspend here apart from the duration and the little slight diversion. |
