| The expectations have been very high. Everyone, who knows the album "Colossal Titan Strife" should know what I was talking about. And exactly that has become the disadvantage of Kronos. It is starting much promising with the track "The Road Of Salvation". Lightning-cleanly played Death Metal in a clear and salonable production. One notices immediately how oppressive Kronos practice their style of Death Metal and that without doubt they control their instruments. But already with the second song they are running out of breath. Somehow it is bad to describe, how Kronos is to blame. The songs are differing from each other, are transparent and are containing good guitar runs, but they do not reach the quality of the latest album (for example the power of an supremacy ingenious "Phaeton"). On "The Hellenic Terror" there is not pressure missing but a little bit of quality. Like these french guys have armed themselves with a huge cannon but loaded that one only with cotton wool. There are some good song passages which will stay in mind ("Tricephallic Hellkeeper"). The "Petrifying Beauty" section runs completely well, particularly shows in the second part the playing quality of the guys and kick some more ass than "Bringer Of Disorder". A large complement one must make to the singer Kristof, who is doing a good job and really has a considerable throat. Yeah man!!!! A further plus is that Kronos take care optically as well as lyrically about the Greek mythology, which makes this output very interesting. Everyone, who doesn't heard something from Kronos until now should first select "Colossal Titan Strife", because here and there some inconsequential songs have in-crept on "The Hellenic Terror". Altogether that is not a bad thing here, but Kronos had high-put the measuring pole high and this height they did not reach again here. Maybe one will need some more time to get into this new album. But one will anyhow wait eagerly for further record releases from this band. But under the line, Kronos will stay as a constant french Death Metal power force besides Disgust and I don't think that they will lose that place very soon. |
