Spain, Brutal Death. Wormed? Avulsed? Yeah damn right. And now also: Haemophagia. Three sickos, wich already saved themselves a spot in my heart with their debut full-length called "From Sickness To Cult". Because here we've all the elements I love about a decent Brutal Death Metal release: gruntingly puked vox, dominating mid-tempo riffs, thuddy drums and occasionally some blasts. Furthermore monotony, a decent production (thank fucking satan for that one) and of course a hell of a lot straight-forward brutality. I also liked the cover artwork, consisting of classical death metal themes and in some urin-like colors, even so the Haemophagia bandlogo does suck balls but that is, as always, a matter of taste again. But what does Haemophagia actually mean? The word describes a creature that feeds of the blood of other animals, likelysuch as a vampire. Now this is one more band that hides themself behind a complicated medical term which is describing just some trivial circumstances (see Dyscrasia = failure in blood or Dysentery = diarreah). But who cares about the name, right? The music is what really counts and considering the sheer amount of bands whose name was inspired in the waiting hall of a hospital, it's hard to find a band name, wich also sounds genuine and original. That this is possible is proven by... actually nobody. The tracklist itself doesn't convince me with their cool song names, neither with the track amount. Since eight songs aren't really much but the whole album duration is somewhat over thirty minutes I may forgive this, after all the songs range from three to four minutes, wich is pretty long for Brutal Death Metal songs at all (like it's the case with Brodequin). The only exception is the title track number four "From Sickness To Cult", which runs for only two minutes and has some extremely shitty hardcore vocals in it and doesn't match to the rest over all; what did the band thought here? Still, this CD never gets boring and just before you realize that every song sounds very much the same, some brutal nice riff comes your way and blows your head up, for example. in the middle of the track "Headshot". The bottom line is: its banging, steaming, farting and burping. With this lack of table manners, listening really is fun, even though the portion isn't big.
