| Thanks No Escape Records, thanks for signing this damn great Goregrind act and making enough fuss so that I had the chance to make myself familiar with Die Pigeon Die. Here going on a discovery tour was finally worth it. These four Australians deliver genuine groovy, sludgy, simple, dirty and overall damn funny Grindgore like one can only love it if one is a fan. After a short intro from Wagner the blasting is directly starting as "Spastic Colon" is giving the note for the rest of this with seventeen minutes pretty short album and lets one hope for more. And more one will get. Tracks like "Smacked Hooker", "Depraved Endometrium" and especially the last track "Ripped From V To A" are going through simple and catchy riffs directly into ones ear and don't come out there so fast again. "'Bout Had It"originally performed by the band Flesh Parade is also one of my favorites and is returned musically on "Ripped From V To A" by Die Pigeon Die very fucking great. The only cause for criticism is the guitar solo in track number four which will simply not fit into the completely not technical and also muddy sound setting and track number five called "Ape Rape" which is coming along with an almost too simple standard Grindcore beat. For the remaining material the following applies: banging until the shit is falling out of one's head through the sides or until one has enough from these unfortunately a little too fast seen through tracks and get bored. This CD is coming along with a relative nice artwork from a guy named Jacob Winkler so it's not only worth to be bought because of the sound on it. I can just hope that the next release is coming soon; maybe a split CD with one of the colleagues signed at No Escape Records or even a new full length album, who knows? At the end I can give a clear recommendation; all sincere Goregrind fans should get "Ripped From V To A" as soon as they can because finally it folds again with the music here whereby Die Pigeon Die could towards all these daily surfacing shit bands yet almost be characterized as a exception. |
