The already since two years finished but actually now released album from "Carnal Pleasures" from the swiss group Carnal Decay (meanwhile with a new singer which is René from Cropment) is not really one of these albums which is able to tear me now from the stool. This shall not mean that this album is totally bad at all, but even more I miss a certain own dynamism and individuality. It reminds me musically and also from the vocals very strong to bands like Eternal Bleeding or Pyrexia, which comparison allows to expect by no means something bad at all. But still I'm a little bit of oversaturated of bands that are not really bad when talking about the quality but just too similar for my taste. The offer of such music has simply risen meanwhile and because of that some kind of own individuality is just necessary when a band wants to be able to state in this area on a continuing basis. The vocals on "Carnal Pleasures" I like personally very well and also the grooving parts here and there. Besides there is a woman playing the guitar in this band, which is not really often be experienced in this genre. Only the sound of the snare is a little bit of tiresomely after listening to this CD for a while. Unfortunately "Carnal Pleasures" has not really a big recognition value in my opinion and because of that it's just joining the league of Ami-Death very quietly and secretly and disappears therefore somewhere in the sinking of my own CD shelve.
