| "A bulldozer shoving shit back into your ass until you vomit", thus reads the self-described sound of this one man project Anal Penetration by Nydoom. This is a pretty high aspiration that is placed to the own music because such a bulldozer must have cursedly a lot behind the big mouth to shove the shit back into ones ass until one has to vomit. And if one is looking at the whole thing closely, one can see that Nydoom is not able to fulfill the own yardsticks. After a short intro in the first track the capacity missing drum machine is starting to blast, the guitar begins to saw some grinding riffs and the vocal chords initiate to howl a mixture of extreme high Grindcore screams and Old School Death Metal growls. This doesn't sound bad so far but there are two mistakes that remove the attraction of this album: first at all the fact that all of these one man bands are shat out like flies out of the backyards of the Grind scene after Torsofuck's Mikko has spattered his erotic diarrhea on the ears of all the gore fans andaAnal Penetration is not able to shine out from the mass and the second one is that this music gets already monotonous and annoying after the third or fourth track. Sure monotony isn't a big drama, but I want to be able to get over the half of this album without having to yawn. The drums seem to rattle the same rhythm again and again; the guitar seems to hit the same strings over and over and the vocals . well they are first of all not very original and also executed pretty cheesy. Admittedly one is restraining as far as possible with intro samples, but those samples that are existent here are also nerving through their length and absurdity. The cover artwork is pointlessly, the album title is tasteless (it has the word Jesus in it, so it doesn't count for me in which coherency it is standing) and the track titles are also nothing special. Every now and then the tracks are grooving pretty good but these little bright spots are really sown to rare to be still able to rescue somewhat. The bottom line is: 27 minutes of boring 08/15 standard Death/Grind like it is standing in the beech; sure there is much worse stuff out there but also much better stuff, so that one wouldn't waste one's time with this. |
