| "A pretty luscious artwork" was my first thought after I've seen the new Anal Blast. Again some people who are trying to shock us with some Waco Jesus or Torsofuck styled artworks, but this time the artwork is more in the manga vein. But after I've seen the album cover of Waco Jesus "The Destruction Of Commercial Scum" album, which was way more sicker, nothing can horrify me anymore. Yes maybe this art fits to this kind of music, but personally it's not my cup of tea. Well, this so called new Anal Blast CD is no real new full length album, "Assault On The Hot Wed Blood Hole" is more a "Best Of" compilation (The band named it tenderly "The Worst of Anal Blast") and it includes 27 songs of their complete discography. Because I don't have any other Anal Blast albums or demos, this compilation is my first real contact with the band and I have to confess, that the music isn't bad. This crazed, perverted, sexist extreme grinding Death Metal makes fun. Especially the tracks from the "Vaginal Vempire" album have delighted me a lot. After I checked out the lovely titled track "Smell Your Cunt", I thought that Cannibal Corpse have been involved into this song, because Don Deckers voice sounds on some songs near the same like Georgie "Corpsegrinder" Fisher from Cannibal Corpse. Unfortunately there are no lyrics in the booklet, it would have been really amusing and an intellectual experience to read the sick fecal soaked thoughts of the band. Let's just say, songtitles like "Menstrual Pancake", "Cumshitting Whore" or "I Only Hit You Because Your Pretty When You Cry" are speaking for themselves and proof, that the band got some real serious sexual problems. Hard to believe that two Slipknot members were a part of the band a few years ago, cause Anal Blast doesn't sound like Shitknot at any second. Perhaps you can find some similarities between both bands with the provoking image, but that's all. Anyway, I really like the songs from the "Vaginal Vempire" and "Battered Bleeding Bitch" albums, because they put you into good humor. The 8 tracks from their split CD with Cephalic Carnage are the weakest part of the compilation in my opinion. But at all, I can say that most of the parts on this record are full of good funny porn Death/Grind stuff, which isn't groundbreaking but it's amusing. Especially the intro from the track "Farm Animal Hammer" owns and it always reminds me of my neighbor (who's a farmer) and the strange sounds that are coming out of the pigsty at night sometimes. Well I think this compilation is only for people, who don't own any other Anal Blast CD's and for freaks which are into porn bands like Lividity or Waco Jesus. By the way, this record has been released by the underground label Mutilated Records and I hope that the label continues to release some great full length albums like in the recent times (Septycal Gorge for example). But one point which really sucks here is the stupid hidden track, which probably was only made to have a longer playtime. You can find the track directly after the "Lil Cunts" song. But first you have to wait for about 5 minutes in silence, then you have to listen to some stupid conversations and then after rather 15 minutes, the bonus track starts. Personally I think the bonus track is one of the best on this CD. But I why haven't they added it directly on the CD as a single track without waiting time and a stupid talk? Yes right, if they had done it that way, they wouldn't have such a great playtime about over 67 minutes. Ok my conclusion is that this stuff could be great for porn freaks, which want to shock their parents, teachers or whoever and don't have a problem with feces. Buy it!! For the rest its decent stuff for fans of bands like Waco Jesus or Lividity and for Anal Blast freaks, which don't have all AB CDs in their collection. |
