Brutal Death Metal is today coming from the island of the tee drinkers and cricket players. I mean of course Great Britain. But I can hardly imagine that these five extreme blast bastards sit down and drink tee while putting a ball through some little gates when they're in private. More likely there are rotten body parts hanging from the ceiling in the rehearsal room, ready to be penetrated and/or eaten, but I don't want to point no fingers here... However it is safe to say that Amputated know what they are doing. Because when the raspy cancer infected larynx growls out of the hi-fi system, the riffs are shredding deeply into the flesh and every drumbeat torments the skin like a whiplash, you know it's all good. And if the diversity in the respects of speed and variation of the vocals is there, one could really speak about good music here. The extremely dumb cover art, which outgoes the one from Portland's Whore just closely makes one really laugh. This infantile "slaughter painting" must have come out of the sick mind of an incestuous SM maniac, fitting the sadistic and pornographic lyrics like a fist straight in the ass (without the lubricator of course). Before every song there's an intro, which is mostly short and funny as it has supposed to be. It's just too bad that the duration is just about 24 minutes, but one run is just not enough anyway. So all in all, there are more positive aspects than negative: brutal audio attacks, a good production and a little bit of humor. But still this CD couldn't really catch me because everything about the sound is so familiar that the word generic quickly comes to mind. This is the reason why I can't give these amputated AIDS cum gurglers a rating higher than 80%, because the riffs are not creative enough and the drumming could at all be done better. If the next release is a little bit more professional, wilder and self-contained, then Amputated could become a really great band.
